It is expected that, if all the processes are approved, the Academy will open in September 2010 on the existing sites.  This means that the Council will have to close The Northicote School and Pendeford Business and Enterprise College with effect from 31 August 2010, to allow the school to reopen as an Academy on the following day.

It is proposed that the new Academy will provide 1050 places for pupils between 11 and 16, with a further 150 in the sixth form.  The proposed Academy has an open access policy and pupils from all backgrounds and abilities are welcome.
At this stage this is a proposal; no decisions have been taken. We now want to hear your views so that we can take these into account when considering the next steps.
